I'm working towards bring my love for 3D printing to my community. When I started about a Year ago, I quickly realized that this was going to be a fun hobby and was going to enjoy it greatly. One of the hurdles I ran into though was there is nowhere near by to grab materials or supplies. If I needed something I had to make a 3 hour round trip (drive time not including time in the store) or I would have to order the items online (minimum of 3-5 business days before it hit your doorstep) and when you have things to do you don't have time for this. My mission is to bring supplies and materials to my surrounding comminutes so they don't have to travel or wait for what they need.
The first printer I got was a FlashForge Creator 3, now for everyone that knows what this machine is and the price, I paid a fraction of the price on Facebook Market. I can tell you it was love at first use, this machine was designed for commercial use (the previous owner used it in his print farm) and it worked flawlessly. I started with your fun basic items to print around the house and slowly started looking into more complicated fun items to build. It was the start to my current addiction.
What a machine, the Ender can make amazing and beautiful prints, but it can also cause you to pull out your hair and lose hours of sleep at night. I start with it being original parts then I quickly upgraded to a silent board, sprite extruder, cr touch, dual z drives, a PEI flexable metal build plate, and since I'm lazy I got a sonic pad. I can tell you this whole process to update was crazy. I leared again how to write C++ and a TON about the workings of a 3D Printer. It currently works very well now and I do my really detailed slower prints on it.
The 3rd printed I added to the collection is the Bambu P1P. This printer truly lives up to what they say, right out of the box I was able to start executing prints. It's been a fun printer and has not given it really any time to rest. I've done prints both on the textured plate that came with it then I ordered a smooth plate for it as well, so far both print amazingly. The machine prints very fast, and when you bump it up its crazy fast. I have been experementing with the different settings and trying to dial eveyrthing it but its always a learning curve. I'm also looking at printing the case for it too as I already have the hardware and plexiglass for it.
